At least six people are confirmed dead and five others wounded following clashes between two sub-clans of Kok Rumbek East County on Tuesday.

Rumbek East County Commissioner Marial Gumke on Wednesday confirmed to Good News Radio that six people were killed and five others wounded when youths from the two sides fought at a dance ground at Kurnhom cattle camp in Western Equatoria State.

The Commissioner said the cause of the fight was not yet known, but that some suspects have been apprehended.

Investigations are underway.

Mr Gumke said the situation is under control.

This is the first inter-communal fight since the new administration took over 32 days since the deadly clashes of Rumbek Centre that claimed several lives.
