The Yei Department of Tax Revenue announced that it would start issuing business operational licences early next week.
Speaking to the press after a preparatory meeting on Friday morning in Yei, the chairman of the Revenue Issuance Committee, Ezibon Gale, said the meeting aimed at unifying tax collection to minimize duplication, Radio Easter reported.Mr Gale said taxes are public money to deliver services and encouraged the business community to pay them.
Yei Chamber of Commerce Chairperson Tito Ayambu Zakondo appealed to the business community to comply with the registration exercise to be able to continue operating in the county.
He said the registration would have new prices in line with the austerity measures.
Mr Ayambu asked the business community to respect the Government policies.
Stakeholders from the national, state and county revenue authorities together with the Chamber of Commerce discussed together the harmonization of taxes collection.
