PRESIDENT PLACES 118 GENERALS IN RESERVE LIST

The President of the Republic on Thursday issued a republican decree for the relief of over 100 lieutenant, major and brigadier generals from active service placing them into the reserve list.

The decree affected two lieutenant generals, Taban Deng Gai, Governor of Unity State, and James Kok Ruei and two Major generals, including Upper Nile Governor Simon Kun Puoch.

114 brigadier generals were also transferred into the reserve list.

The list included Rizik Zacchariah Hassan and Louis Lobong Lojore, governors of Western Bahr El Ghazal and Eastern Equatoria, Augustino Maduot Parek, Director General of Nationality, Passport and Immigration and at least three women.

President Salva Kiir issued another decree appointing Dr Susan Deng as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Cooperative Bank of South Sudan.

The two decrees were effective from Thursday.

The President issued a third decree appointing John Kanisio as the Secretary-General of Food Security Committee, effective from February 8.
