A SPLM high ranking official has praised women’s turnout for voting saying that over 70 percent of voters in queues were women.
SPLM deputy secretary General for the Southern Sector, Anne Itto, applauded the big turnout of women although many had to wait due to logistical challenges.Sudan Tribune website reported that women outnumbered men in the six polling centers, comprised of over 20 polling stations, in Bor Town Payam.
Dr. Itto blamed the National Elections Commission for the logistical challenges.
She noted that the NEC is slow in addressing the problems faced by voters across the country.
