The ICRC or International Red Cross Committee said on Tuesday a mobile team of surgeons is treating 15 seriously wounded people in Walgak Primary Healthcare Centre in Akobo, Jonglei State.

ICRC Communication Delegate Ewan Watson told CRN that the rapid surgical medical team carried out emergency operations on different wounded people, victims of last Friday’s raid that killed 103 people.

Mr Watson explained that some of the people had serious wounds in their chests and were operated in Walgak because their condition was too serious to evacuate them.

He said the surgical team was sent to Walgak to perform the needed operations.

Mr Watson added the several injuries were life threatening.
