A woman abandoned her one-year old child in Yei and disappeared.
Atlabara area community leader Stephen Hakim Bullen told Radio Easter on Tuesday that he received a phone call at 11 PM about an abandoned child.
He said residents found the child hungry and crying.
Mr Hakim expalined that the mother identified as Anna Nyoka left her baby at her neighbour’s place and vanished.
Area headman Ezra Arike said the mother was lazy to provide food to the abandoned baby boy.
He added that if the mother was found, she would be questioned why she decided to have the child if she had no interest of raising him.
Mr. Arike advised all mothers to care for their children and bring them up well.
He condemned the acts of child abandonment and abortion.
