The Speaker of the National Legislative Assembly said the House passed a resolution that the 75 executive officials listed by the President as corrupt have to be prosecuted.

James Wani Igga told the press on Friday in Juba that the Assembly asked the executive to penalize the 75 people listed for corruption.

Mr Wani did not elaborate on the type of the punishment to be given to the corrupt officials but said they should be brought to court.

He said the Assembly could not do much because it did not get the list of the 75 names.

Mr Wani disclosed that the three media bills are well into their second reading.

He said the process was interrupted by the recess of the Assembly.

When the Assembly resumes the bills will be priority.

Mr Wani said MPs will resume their work at the end of February to start deliberations on the Constitution Review Commission Bill followed by the media bills that are “desperately” needed.
