IOM, the International Organization for Migration, is intensifying the digging of emergency latrines and increasing hygiene activities at Doro Refugee Camp in Upper Nile.
IOM is providing water, sanitation and hygiene services to over 40,000 refugees at Doro camp.IOM Chief of Mission in South Sudan, Vincent Houver, said the agency is currently working on the construction of an additional 336 latrines in the villages of Jumjum and Ingasana.
He added that 200 latrines have been completed.
Mr Houver explained that they have deployed additional community hygiene promoters.
IOM is also installing water tanks to ensure that people get better access to clean water and sanitation.
He said IOM is also working with partners to reduce the risk of transmission of waterborne diseases by treating drinking water.
