The Government of Sudan is not renewing some stay visas of expat missionaries in a bid to reduce their number.
A Church source told CRN on Sunday that since January the Sudanese authorities are issuing only for six-month visas.
Previously they were issuing one-year stay visas.
The same source said some missionaries got permission to travel abroad without receiving re-entry visas while others saw the renewal of their expired visas denied.
The source explained that according to the authorities the Church does not need so many staff from abroad.
