The Union of Journalists of South Sudan or UJoSS on Thursday graduated 23 journalists after three months of basic training in Yei River County.
Yei County chairperson of UJoSS Subcommittee Agele Benson Amose said the training aimed to ensure proper dissemination of information in the county and in the country as well as making the youth busy, Radio Easter reported.He explained that out of the 23 graduated journalists two were women.
Modi Gilbert, one of the participants, said the training developed his skills including writing and reading news and ethics.
Ephraim Jomo appreciated Ground Report Media and UJoSS for training the journalists in the county.
Mr Jomo said media has the power either to build or destroy the community.
He urged journalists to abide by the code of ethics to be out of trouble.
Mr Jomo urged the graduates to value the profession for nation development.
He announced the opening of Star FM and SSTV in Yei, saying that each station would take 12 journalists.
