Voting kicked off in most of the polling stations in Lakes State late and was characterized with confusion over names in the registers.
Many voters were turned down in polling stations, being referred to other voting centres.
Lakes Deputy Governor, David Nok told Good News Radio that he visited over ten polling centres and the voting process was slow.
Mr. Nok added that the lack of previous experience in voting may be the reason for the slowness.
The deputy governor further said that some polling centres lacked basic means like tables, ink, voting papers.
Mr. Nok remained optimistic that the obstacles would be overcome with time.
There has been a call to extend the period of voting time beyond the three days stipulated.
