Lakes State Caretaker Governor has warned he will run the State heavy headedly if that was what it took to restore law and order.
Matur Chut Dhuol told thousands of citizens who turned up to receive him on Tuesday evening in Rumbek that he was a soldier and was appointed to stop lawlessness in the State even if he needed to use force, Good News reported.He accused county commissioners, ministers and MPs of boycotting the sacked Governor.
Mr Chut threatened lawbreakers with old style fire-squads.
He said he was open to peaceful solutions of problems.
The new Lakes State Caretaker Governor said he did not have patience for rumourmongers and instigators of violence and promised to confront them.
Mr Chut said he was ready to cooperate with those who wanted peace.
He cautioned criminals that he would not compromise.
Mr Chut has two months to organize the election for a new Governor with the support of the National Elections Commission.
Tuesday’s welcoming rally for the caretaker governor was attended by government officials, NGOs, children, youths and elders.
