The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) yesterday called on the National Elections Commission (NEC) to extend the polling period from three to seven days.

The Chairperson of the Elections Campaign Team for the incumbent President Salva Kiir Mayardit, Dr. Samson Kwaje, said there were a lot of irregularities in the process, Sudan tribune website reported.

Dr. Kwaje confirmed that names were either missing, wrongly written, misplaced or polling delayed for many hours.

He said strange names were also detected in various states doubting that anyone would have such names.

Dr. Kwaje said the situation looked like if random names were printed and people were given voting slips to cast votes using such names.

He said Dr. Luka Tombekana Monoja, who contests for Juba South Constituency No. 2 parliamentary seat, could not vote because he was among the victims who did not find their names in the list published in the station he registered from.
