Eastern Equatoria Assembly Speakers called on MPs to sensitize citizens at their constituencies to provide peaceful atmosphere for investors.

Ambrose Emmanuel Ocholimoi advised people to stop unnecessary shooting and killings, Radio Emmanuel reported.

He said such practices scared investors from financing projects in the state.

Speaker Ocholimoi said the state might lose development opportunities if investors are scared by random shooting in the state.

He urged MPs to sensitize the people to put away their guns to encourage investors into the state.

The Speaker claimed that the issue of road construction was not political.

He said the current state government and its leadership was seeking to build a legacy.

Speaker Ocholimoi’s appeal followed state roads minister Charles Ambrose Lokonoi’s announcement that a Malaysian Company was ready to construct 2,000 kilometres of feeder roads in the state after a four-day visit to that country.

Axim Bank of Malaysia lent 390 million Dollars to Eastern Equatoria state for construction of 2,000 kilometres of feeder roads and bridges.
