The Governor of Western Bahr El Ghazal raised questions on what good the current leadership could leave to the next generation in South Sudan at a time when tribalism rules in every community.
Rizik Zachariah Hassan asked what excuses the leaders could present to the next generation for tribalism and corruption already affecting nation building, Voice of Hope reported.He called on reconciliation, forgiveness and stability to allow the state to contribute towards nation building.
Mr Zachariah described last December incidents in Wau as criminal, not tribal, and called for reconciliation and peace.
He denounced that some leaders play the tribal card for their own interests when they lose political support.
The state Government announced the detention of several political leaders and individuals accused of orchestrating violence that claimed scores of lives in Wau last December.
Governor Zachariah was speaking at the State Secretariat on Monday following the condemnation on Sudan’s recent attack on the Raja area of Ketket.
