REPRESENTATIVES DISCUSS YEI FISCAL BUDGET

Representatives from different departments of government have gathered Monday at Yei Council Hall to deliberate on the county’s fiscal budget for the financial period of June 2012 and July 2013.

Acting executive director for Yei County, Tongun Wani Jada, opened the business of the day and stressed the importance of the budget as a tool for service delivery to the people.

Yei River County Head of planning department, Matata Khemis Charles, explained the 14.5 Million Pounds Budget will be funded by state government, central government and the county’s local revenues.

He said eight million Pounds will be paid by the state government and the national government will shoulder 1.7 million. Five million should come from local revenues.

Mr Matata added that the money will be used for salaries, financing development and catering for operational costs.

He reiterated that his department gave the overview about the budget allocations and that the Council would screen all the presentations of the payam administrators on Wednesday.
