The relocation of administration centres from big towns to the rural areas is an attempt to implement the SPLM policy of taking towns to the people to redistribute power and resources.

Sudd Institute Executive Director Jok Madut Jok told CRN that the majority of people live in rural areas and it was right to put the administrative centres where people lived.

Dr Jok said the relocation of Wau County to Bagari implemented that policy and would stop rural migration to towns.

He explained that relocation of administrative centres would avoid many layers of government in the same place.

Political commentator Alfred Lokuji described the idea that different levels of government could not coexist in one place as nonsense.

Dr Lokuji said powers are defined by the Constitution that deatils jurisdictions very well.

He added that it was important that each layer of Government did what the Constitution allotted.

Dr Lokuji commented that if the issues were seen from the angle of layers of power then what happened in Wau amounted to a struggle over land.

He added that so far counties were not entities on their own but delegation of powers by governors.
