A police officer killed one man at a cattle camp in Tonj South County in Warrap State on Thursday.

Tonj South County Police Commissioner Joseph Mayiei told Don Bosco FM that the officer killed one of the cattle keepers by mistake.

He said the police and soldiers heard gunshots in the cattle camp, thought it was a raid and opened fire.

Mr Mayiei added that later they discovered that it was a community police who started shooting his gun to celebrate the new bull he bought.

The police chief urged the parents of late Deng Maruop to allow the case to be investigated by security organs.
