Sudanese Revolutionary Front (SRF) rebels claimed that they destroyed a government military camp in Lia Umsharmot, near Talodi, in South Kordofan, on Monday.
SPLA-N spokesperson Arnu Ngatulu Lodi said both sides suffered casualties.He claimed that six government and one SPLM-N soldiers were killed during the fighting.
Mr Ngatulu said the rebels captured 57 AK-47 machineguns in good condition.
He said the attack to Lia Umsharmot was an answer to repeated aerial bombardment on the civilians in Umserdiba and Karkray.
Mr Ngatulu denounced that the Government’s air force hit Karkray with 14 bombs spreading fear among children.
He added that aerial attacks continued on Wednesday in Heiban, Dabi and Mandi.
Mr Ngatulu promised to give further details later.
