A medical doctor at Rumbek State Hospital denied allegations that practitioners were selling drugs to private clinics.

Teran John Teran told Good News Radio that the allegations were false.

He explained that private drug stores import their medicines from East Africa while the medicines supplied by the Government to the Hospital have a special label.

Dr Teran denied complains of inconsistent services by doctors in the hospital.

He said Rumbek State Hospital has ten medical doctors but it needs at least 20 to attend all the cases referred to the institution.

Dr Teran appealed for doctors to be deployed in the counties to reduce the number of patients seeking treatment at the state hospital.

Patients at Rumbek State Hospital have been complaining of lack of drugs and of doctors to attend to their needs.
