The rate of malaria infections reduced in Nuba Mountains following the onset of the dry season.
Nurse Nidal Dagom Ngalu said malaria was high between August and October because people did not have mosquito nets. She added that lack of cleanness around the houses also contributed to the hike in malaria infections.
Ms Dagom said the percentage of malaria cases in Gidel reduced from 80 to 20 percent because stagnant water dried out.
More than 300 patients were admitted with malaria last year in Gidel.
