One youth member, Debora Arual, said the purpose of electing a leader was to help and direct the youth in getting to know each other and to prevent discrimination.
Michael Dangaru, another youth, said many youths did not know each other because there was no place for them to meet.
He added that 2013 should be the year of hard work for the youth in order to live in peace and cooperation.
Mr Dangaru urged the youths to live in unity, love, peace and cooperation with other young people of Tonj South to work together for the development of the country.
