Two Episcopal Church of Sudan or ECS bishops in Lakes State have called on the South Sudanese to make 2013 the year of nonviolence.
ECS Bishop Alfayo Manyang of Rumbek told Good News Radio on Tuesday that the enemies of peace are those who encourage revenge and are against development.He said South Sudan needs to put an end to killings to have peace and development.
Bishop Manyang urged citizens to unite and promote peace in the year 2013.
ECS Bishop Joseph Maker Atout of Pachong wished all the people to be happy as they entered the New Year.
He said he hoped 2013 to be a year of peace.
Thousands of believers in Lakes State gathered on Tuesday in their respective places of worship to thank God for the New Year.
