The Catholic Bishop of Yei has warned the youth about suicide.
Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe told the youth to stop hanging themselves instead of taking care of their parents who are old and need help, Radio Easter reported.Bishop Lodu said the Church was not ready to pray for those who hanged themselves.
He added that the youth are too much involved in smoking and taking dangerous drugs that confuse them and lead them to suicide.
Bishop Lodu called on the citizens of Lainya County to be role models of peace in the country.
The bishop’s statement came after a young man hanged himself in Lainya during the Christmas celebration.
