The President of the Republic said 2013 should be the year of unity and economic development.
Salva Kiir Mayardit called on all the people of South Sudan to embrace peace, unity and hard work for economic growth in his New Year’s message presented through the media on Monday in Juba.The President urged the South Sudanese to welcome the New Year as an opportunity to start afresh by overcoming difficulties and focusing on economic improvement.
President Kiir called on the people of South Sudan to take bigger responsibilities and work together to better their lives.
The President said criminality – which is on the increase in Juba – must stop.
Mr Kiir directed the security organs to take action to deal with crimes.
He added that he hoped that the Presidential Summit with Omar al Bashir next week in the Ethiopian capital will resolve the fears of Khartoum over oil flow.
