The Governor of Central Equatoria has dismissed a number of senior officials in the state Ministry of Education over the incidents at Juba Day Secondary School.

Clement Wani Konga dismissed David Lowela, Director-General in the Ministry of Education, headmaster George Kenyi Wilson, Jada Lo Loku, Lify Simon and Lodu Gonder all from Juba Day Secondary School and Nichola Jada from Juba Commercial Secondary School.

One female student and on teacher were wounded by the security forces when students burnt the building material in a container to build a private hospital in what they said was part of the school premises.

Governor Konga banned the dismissed officials from employment in other institutions and NGOs branding them a threat to the development of Central Equatoria.

He issued another decree to form the Egypt Business Council in Central Equatoria State.

The four-member council is chaired by Felix Lodu Johnson, an Advisor on Health. Leonard Logo, Margret Ayite and Francis Barson are the other members.
