A presidential advisor told the crowd celebrating the centenary of ECS, the Episcopal Church of Sudan, in Yambio to feel free and spread the good news of love, peace and unity to all the states in South Sudan.

Mark Lotende Lochapi, who represented Salva Kiir Mayardit at the celebration, conveyed the President’s special greetings and message of solidarity to all the believers of Western Equatoria State, Anisa Radio reported.

The advisor said President Kiir loves the people of Western Equatoria because they are peaceful and God loving.

Mr Lotende asked all citizens to refuse those who want to incite tribalism, nepotism and conflicts among the communities and say yes to unity, development and faith.

State Governor Joseph Bangasi Bakosoro encouraged the citizens to keep up peace in the state during the New Year celebrations.

He warned people not to shoot a single bullet and asked for all crimes and theft to be stopped.

Both the state governor and the presidential advisor were speaking to thousands of believers who gathered on Sunday for the Centenary celebration of the ECS-Yambio diocese at Timbiro Cathedral.
