A member of South Sudan Civil Society Alliance has called on all citizens to cooperate and work together with the government to strengthen security in the country.

Deng Athuai told Bakhita Radio on Friday that the work of security is not for the government alone, but a collective responsibility of the government and its citizens.

He called upon the entire citizens to protect the country, urging the civil society groups to come together to build peace in the country.

Mr Athuai urged all South Sudanese to work hard, cautioning that South Sudan enemies continue to threaten the peace of the new country.

He said he met with government officials in Juba to find ways of restoring peace and stability in Wau.

Mr Athuai added that the government does not want the violence in Wau to take tribal lines.

The recent violence in Wau had left 12 people death following the protest on Wednesday.
