Ikwoto County Commissioner, Peter Lokeng Lotone told Radio Emmanuel that the chiefs died while investigating crimes to arrest the suspects.

Mr Lokeng said one of the chiefs; Erenio Lopula was killed by his nephew.

The Commissioner said he has written a letter to the minister for Public Administration and Internal Affairs requesting the chiefs to be armed for self protection.

Mr Lokeng said he has not received any reply from the minister.

He recalled the killing of chief, Arinete Loye of Lodwar Mura Boma shot last year and the recent killing of chief Kasimiro Tobolia of Ramula Boma by criminals.

The Commissioner complained of limited number of police forces in Ikwoto County to cover all the Payams and provide security to the chiefs.
