National government has directed security organs to “shoot to death” any person found in possession of firearms along Torit-Kapoeta road in Eastern Equatoria state.
Minister of Public Administration and Internal Affairs, Claudio Suleiman Liling disclosed this to Parliament on Tuesday during a debate on the increasing security situation in the state.He said the national government has ordered deployment of heavy security to shoot death any person found with guns along Lobira-Kapoeta road.
Ben Loki supported the order of the national government and the parliament recommended arresting and disarming criminals of cattle raids and attacks.
He also said security forces would be deployed along hot spots.
The state Speaker of the Assembly Ambrose Emmanuel Ocholimoi said the community along the road should be sensitized to avoid innocent people from falling victims.
He suggested County Commissioners to take the responsibility of raising awareness of the people.
Eastern Equatoria state parliament also resolved that any political post holder and civil servant taking part in inflaming violence among the community should face the law.
Rino Loremo raised the security issue to the state Parliament on Monday under an urgent matter.
