United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) has called on the youth in Jonglei to cooperate with the chiefs and local authorities and distance away from arm violence.
UNMISS Communication officer Liam McDowall told the press in Juba that Secretary-General remains concern on the activities of the rebel militia groups that continue to undermine the efforts of the new nation.He said the Secretary-General has called on the government to identify and address grievances of all communities.
Mr McDowall said UNMISS will continue to send out integrated team and other patrol across Jonglei to monitor the activities of the rebels.
He said UNMISS had developed a plan to reinforce military deployment of 1,000 troops to help those on the ground.
Mr McDowall said UNMISS is only mandated to operate within the geographical territory of the mission.
