The newly trained South Sudan Police Service (SSPS) have pledged their commitment to serve the community
Ms. Keji Agnes, a female officer, mentioned that they would not only use the knowledge to service as police officers but also members of their families and the community where they live.
She said it was also an advantage to be trained by UN POL in Internationally accredited policing skills.
Ms. Keji is among the 20 officers who received certificates for Human Rights, Gender and Child protection.
In addition to the basic policing training, the group specialized in protection of child, women, and the handicapped.
The officers also learned on how to protect victims, how to reduce gender based violence, basically on women and children.
Marcelous Oruni, another officer observed that the training was their gate way for a greater professional career in police service.
The more than 650 police officers in Eastern Equatoria state are a section of about 5,000 police officials trained in South Sudan to oversee elections security and handle offenses during and after the April 11th polls.
