A commercial bank operating in South Sudan has donated 17 desks and ten books for each classroom of Juba Model Basic School.
The donation was part of a community project the Kenyan Commercial Bank or KCB runs every year to assist the local community.KCB-Buluk community champion Nobel Arem Riak told Bakhita Radio that all KCB branches today are helping selected primary schools with specific needs.
Mr Riak explained that his bank selected Juba Model School after discovering that pupils were sitting on the floor and lacked text books.
He explained that the bank only assists public schools.
The occasion was marked with performance of sketches from Juba Model pupils and speeches from the Teachers and Parents Association.
