The US Department of State has called on South Sudan and Sudan to resume the production of crude while they discuss other bilateral issues to inject much needed revenue into their economies.
The Office of the Spokesperson issued a statement on Monday expressing concern about the delays in the implementation of the cooperation agreements signed on September 27 between South Sudan and Sudan.The US administration said it was concerned because there was no progress on the establishment of a demilitarized corridor along the border.
The statement noted that the unresolved issue of the demilitarized area delays the implementation of other agreements and threatens the stability between the two countries.
