The Scouts Chief Commissioner has graduated a number of Scouts in Yei River County, Central Equatoria, on Thursday.
Joseph Lasuba told the press that he visited Yei to graduate new members and to support the local scouts, Radio Easter reported.He also laid the foundation stone for the Yei Scouts Association.
The guest from Geneva who was researching on the scouts’ movement in South Sudan accompanied the chief.
Scout Rebecca Jambal said she joined the movement because there were few soldiers in the county.
Another scout who declined to be named said the movement that came from Uganda into South Sudan trains young people to be good citizens and leaders.
Thousands attended the graduation at Yei Freedom Square.
