Unknown gunners shot at a lorry on the Rumbek-Tonj road on Wednesday injuring two passengers.
The injured men are Ugandan and South Sudanese.The Ugandan who declined to be named told Radio Don Bosco that they were bringing goods from Uganda to Awiel, in Northern Bahr El Ghazal.
He added that the gunmen tried to stop the driver to loot the lorry.
Tonj South Deputy Commissioner Augustine Akoc Agoth sent the police to the scene of the shooting but found the bandits had vanished.
He said the police would continue to patrol the area.
UNMISS peacekeepers were called to assist the police in the search for the gunners.
