UNHCR, the UN refugee agency, has carried out air survey last week to explore the relocation sites for some 62,000 refugees currently at Yida in Unity State.
Yida lies too close to the restive border area and the presence of armed personnel in and around the area does not meet international safety standards.The agency said the Government of South Sudan proposed some sites for relocation of Yida refugee camp.
Refugee leaders will be fully engaged in the process should the sites be determined viable options for relocation.
