An official at the GoSS ministry of Gender, Social Welfare and Religious Affairs said human rights is also women rights.
Directress General Regina Lula told the participants at a workshop in Juba that women have the same rights as men.Ms. Lula said women need to be given special maternal health care and rights for girls’ education.
Ms. Lula blamed illiterate mothers for encouraging their daughters to enter into early marriages.
The workshop was held under the theme “Equal rights, equal opportunities – progress for all and building peace through gender equality.”
