Central Equatoria Ministry of Education has denied selling school land to investors.
Last week, students from Juba Day Secondary School protested violently against the construction of a hospital in land they considered part of their school.Director General of Education David Lowela Modi told Bakhita Radio that his ministry did not sell any school land.
He said the former and current ministers of education and he did not sign any document selling Juba Day School grounds.
Mr Modi said surveyors from the state ministry of physical infrastructure said that land in dispute did not belong to the school, but it was government reserved land since 1985.
He added that the government is free to allocate the land to anybody it wishes.
Mr Modi said students, school administration and the public should stop blaming the state ministry of education for that land issue at Juba Day Secondary School.
He said the investigation into who shot a student and a teacher was ongoing.
