A medical expert said that educating girls will help them to decide their own future.
Janet Michael, Director General for Nursing and Midwifery at Juba Teaching Hospital, told participants at a workshop that girls education helps them to make up their own minds when and who to marry.Ms. Janet said early marriages are among the main problems for the high rate of child death mortality in the region.
She added that southern Sudan holds the highest infant mortality rate in the world.
Ms. Janet urged concerned authorities to exert more effort to improve women’s health.
