Lainya Parish in the Catholic Diocese of Yei will detach officially from Christ the King parish next Sunday.
Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe of Yei announced that the Divine Word Missionaries were moving to Lainya on Saturday to start the local parish, Radio Easter reported.The missionaries were in Yei for the last seven months.
Bishop Lodu announced that Lainya Parish will be officially opened on Sunday, November 11.
The Bishop urged the Catholic community to support the priests who have left their countries for the sake of preaching the Gospel among them.
He added that Jesus Christ told his followers to go to the whole world and proclaim the Good News.
Bishop Lodu made the announcement at Christ the King Cathedral on Sunday.
