Eastern Equatoria chief judge installed into office three County commissioners for Kapoeta East, Ikotos, and Magwi.
The three incoming commissioners, who took the oath of allegiance on Wednesday, included Peter Lokeng for Ikotos, Lino Lowi for Kapoeta East and Peter Ochilo for Magwi County, Emmanuel Radio reported.Cyprian Okuye Atar, Secretary-General of the state government, was also sworn-in as advisor.
The new office bearers assumed duties with immediate effect.
Justice Charles Oyoo, who presided over the swearing-in ceremony, urged the three county commissioners and the advisor to execute their duties with impartiality.
Mr. Oyoo said public servants should resist political temptations and take control of state duties with fairness.
He urged them to strengthen security for the conduction of free and fair elections.
Eastern Equatoria state caretaker governor, Johnson Juma Okot, said the replacement of the three commissioners was not political but to strengthen services delivery to the people.
Mr. Okot added that the new commissioners are short lived because the positions will be declared vacant after the general elections.
The caretaker governor revealed that the county commissioners were changed following a presidential decree signed by Salva Kiir Mayardit.
