LAKES USAP FEMALE CANDIDATE PROMISES CHANGE IF ELECTED

A member of the United Sudan Africa Party (USAP) has promised to support the rights of women, children and youth if she is elected in the April Elections.

Fernanda Amou Gideon is contesting in the Mayom Constituency for a seat in the Southern Sudan legislative Assembly and she made these statements while addressing a political rally at Mayom, near Rumbek, Good News Radio reported.

Mrs. Amou, who is an official in the Lakes State Ministry of Social Development, Gender and Child Welfare, said she would promote income generating activities that will raise the standard of living of women and youth.

Mrs. Amou is also advocating for girl child education as a way of empowering women economically.

She is among four female candidates contesting seats in the Southern Sudan Legislative Assembly on the USAP ticket.
