The Vice President of the Republic has met the new International Criminal Court (ICC) Prosecutor General in Nairobi to discuss the possible visit of Sudan’s President to Juba.
Riek Machar Teny told the press on Wednesday after returning from the US through Kenya that the government does not like to act against the ICC.He said he reached an understanding with ICC’s chief Fatou Bensouda in case Omar Al Bashir visits Juba.
Dr Machar said he discussed with Dr Bensouda whether to hand to Uganda or to the ICC any of the three indicted LRA leaders if they were arrested in South Sudan.
President Bashir is likely to lead a high level ministerial delegation to Juba to discuss the implementation of the cooperation agreements signed last month in Ethiopia.
