Central Equatoria State Minister for Finance has applauded the Governor’s decision to restore revenue collection in the state saying it represents a big relief to his ministry.

Jacob Aligo Lo-Ladu revealed that it was unfortunate that the national government was not transparence and accurate in the figures it produced on the revenue collected, Bakhita Radio reported.

The minister revealed that prior to the centralization system Central Equatoria collected between 12 and 13 million pounds a month.

Mr Lo-Ladu said the national ministry of finance abused the centralization agreement.

He compared the current situation with the oil revenue shared by Khartoum and Juba during the CPA: one never knew what half was getting.

Mr Lo-Ladu said he supported the Governor Clement Wani Konga’s decision because the national ministry of finance is not respecting the agreement it signed with the states.

Yesterday, Governor Konga announced that he was moving out of the centralized system of revenue collection because the agreement left his state vulnerable to economic extinction.

He announced the Central Equatoria would resume revenue collection in Kaya and Nesitu on November 1.
