A political analyst has warned that Khartoum could take advantage of the diplomatic inexperience of South Sudan in the implementation of the cooperation agreements passed by the parliament this week.

Isaac Kenyi analyzed the differences between South Sudan and Sudan and told CRN that Juba may be at disadvantage because it has no career and experienced diplomats.

He advised South Sudan diplomats to be prudent, read the agreements and understand them well before doing anything.

Mr Kenyi said South Sudan does not have enough qualified personnel to fill in the different joint committees that should oversee the implementation on the ground of the cooperation agreements.

He noted that South Sudanese ministers are all overstretched.

Mr Kenyi said Sudan will benefit more than South Sudan from the resumption of trade between the two countries.

He explained that South Sudanese are mostly consumers of products from the Sudan.

Mr Kenyi was comparing the benefits the two countries would get from the cooperation agreements signed on September 27 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and approved by the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday.
