The National Legislative Assembly and the Council of States in the joint sitting on Tuesday ratified the Cooperation Agreements signed between South Sudan and Sudan.
Speaker James Wani Igga announced that the Council of States voted 27 for ratification of the cooperation and only one voted against and the National Legislative Assembly voted 189 for and only 15 against.Speaker Wani congratulated the MPs for ratifying the cooperation agreements and urged them to enlighten their constituents through phone calls and writing letters to them about the deal.
Earlier the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Michael Makuei Lueth moved the motion to end the discussion, adopting President Kiir’s speech, revoking the resolution on oil shutdown and to ratify the cooperation agreements.
