A member of the Political Parties’ Affairs Council (PPAC) said the parties who are harassed and intimidated should report it immediately to the authorities.
The PPAC was founded after the CPA and consists of nine independent members not affiliated to any political organization.Addressing the participants at the peace forum this morning at Nyakuron Cultural Centre, in Juba, Permena Bulkoch said the Political Act of 2007 does not allow any search of the party’s premises without permission from the PPAC Chairperson.
Mr. Bulkoch asked the parties not to resist illegal searches but to report to the PPAC.
He added that evidence illegally obtained cannot be used in the courts of law.
Mr. Bulkock said there are 79 registered political parties in the Sudan.
