An official has appealed to mothers to embrace the ongoing anti-polio campaign and ensure their children under five are vaccinated until tomorrow.

Eastern Equatoria caretaker governor, Johnson Juma Okot, made the appeal yesterday at Torit County Headquarter, during the launch of a three-day polio vaccination exercise.

Mr. Okot also urged the residents to improve hygiene in order to maintain a healthy environment.

The three-day polio vaccination campaign started yesterday and ends tomorrow in an effort to kick out the crippling disease from Southern Sudan.

All children under five years of age are to take the two drops of vaccine that can save their future even if they were vaccinated before.

Vaccinators go from door to door to deliver the vaccine.

Health authorities ask parents and guardians to keep under-five children at home until tomorrow in order to be vaccinated.
