ANNUAL INFLATION AT 42.9 PERCENT

September’s annual inflation rate stood at 42.9 percent, slightly lower than August and almost half of May when prices skyrocketed up to almost 80 percent.

The National Bureau of Statistics says prices between August and September went up 0.3 percent due to food.

By regions, the annual inflation rates stood at 53.9 percent in Malakal, 40.7 percent in Juba and 12.6 percent in Wau from September 2011 to September 2012.

Between August and September, prices went up 13.9 in Malakal and 0.7 percent in Wau and fell by four percent in Juba.
